Baptism
Sacrament of Baptism
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin, reborn as sons and daughters of God, and become members of Christ and his Church.
Celebrating Baptism in Our Parish
At St. Mary Magdalene Church, the Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on Sundays during or after the morning Holy Liturgy. To schedule a baptism, parents should visit the parish office with the child’s birth certificate and sponsor details.
Preparation & Sponsor (Godparent) Requirements
Parents and godparents are required to participate in a baptismal preparation session conducted by our parish team. A godparent must be a practicing Catholic, at least 16 years of age, who has received the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation, and lives a life in harmony with the faith.
