Jesus said to her, "Mary!"
She turned and said to him in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" John 20:16
Since 1833, St. Mary Magdalene Parish Church in Moothedam, Maradu, has stood as a beacon of Christian faith, devotion, and community action. Nestled in Ernakulam, Kerala, our parish serves as a spiritual home for thousands of families, nurturing their faith through the sacraments, community fellowship, and active ministries.
We invite you to join us in liturgy, experience our sacred silence, and seek the intercession of our patron, St. Mary Magdalene, and the beloved Servant of God, Fr. George Vakayil.
Gather with us in worship. Our services are conducted with reverence, offering both silent contemplation and traditional music.
Fr. George Vakayil, who served as our parish priest at the time of his passing, lived a life dedicated to the marginalized, poor, and needy. Known for his profound piety, simple lifestyle, and pastoral care, he remains a saintly figure for our congregation.
On September 1, 2013, he was declared a Servant of God by Metropolitan Archbishop Francis Kallarakal at our church. Today, his tomb in the Cemetery Chapel in Maradu is a renowned pilgrimage center, attracting thousands who seek his intercession.
Take a quiet moment in your day to reflect on scripture and nourish your spirit. Below is today's reflection chosen for our parish community.
"Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. All things pass; God does not change. Patience achieves everything. Whoever has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices."
Our parish community regularly prays for the intentions of our members. Let us lift up your burdens and thanksgivings together in prayer.
